چکیده
We demonstrate that the skeleton of the Fermi surface Sf;σ pertaining to a uniform metallic ground state (corresponding to fermions with spin index σ) is determined by the Hartree-Fock contribution Σ σ (k) to the dynamical self-energy Σσ(k; ε). That is to say, in order for k ∈ Sf;σ it is necessary (but for anisotropic ground states in general not sufficient) that the following equation be satisfied

Metallic phase between the Fermi glass and the Wigner crystal in two dimensions
Abstract. For intermediate Coulomb energy to Fermi energy ratios rs, spinless fermions in a two-dimensional random potential form a new quantum phase, different from the Fermi glass (weakly interacting Anderson localized states) and the Wigner crystal (regular array of charges pinned by the disorder). The intermediate phase is characterized by an ordered flow of persistent currents with a typic...
متن کاملThe Haldane bosonisation scheme and metallic states of interacting fermions in d spatial dimensions
We consider the Haldane bosonisation scheme in d spatial dimensions as applied to a realistic model of interacting fermions in d = 2 and unequivocally demonstrate failure of this scheme in d > 1, specifically in d = 2. In addition to tracing back this failure to its origin, we show that nothing as regards the true metallic state of the model under consideration is known with any degree of certa...
متن کاملTransport properties of one-dimensional interacting fermions in aperiodic potentials
Motivated by the existence of metal-insulator transition in one-dimensional non-interacting fermions in quasiperiodic and pseudorandom potentials, we studied interacting spinless fermion models using exact many-body Lanczos diagonalization techniques. Our main focus was to understand the effect of the fermion-fermion interaction on the transport properties of aperiodic systems. We calculated th...
متن کاملStructure of fermion nodes and nodal cells.
We study nodes of fermionic ground state wave functions. For two dimensions and higher we prove that spin-polarized, noninteracting fermions in a harmonic well have two nodal cells for arbitrary system size. The result extends to noninteracting or mean-field models in other geometries and to Hartree-Fock atomic states. Spin-unpolarized noninteracting states have multiple nodal cells; however, i...
متن کاملN Fermion Ground State of Calogero-Sutherland type Models in Two and Higher Dimensions
I obtain the exact ground state of N-fermions in D-dimensions (D ≥ 2) in case the N particles are interacting via long-ranged two-body and three-body interactions and further they are also interacting via the harmonic oscillator potential. I also obtain the N-fermion ground state in case the oscillator potential is replaced by an N-body Coulomb-like interaction.
